“Hello.”
Scorpion’s doctor is here in England, London in fact. He’s standing in the Leicester Square holding a stack of flyers. He’s holding a single out trying to get people to take it.
“Please, this man is dangerous, have you seen him?”
People walk by ignoring him as they move on to their busy days.
I may be the one hiding, but until recently my opponents in this match have been the ones who have been invisible. That’s impressive for a man like Dreadvan. For Swann it’s par for the course. For StormCrow it’s just another day because he’s always hid in the bottom of a bottle until it was time to crawl out, and crawl out he has.
The good doctor shoves a flyer into the hand of a younger man walking by who was paying no attention to him.
“Please. Have you seen him?”
The younger man stops in his tracks and turns around to face the doctor.
“I have seen him. This guy is about to compete at AXW.”
“Yes! That is him, but have you really seen him? Like in person?”
“No, no one has, but I have tickets to. I’ll be at the show.”
He whips out his phone and displays his tickets to the show.
He crawled right out of the bottom of that bottom and like always began rambling like the drunken idiot that he is. He spoke to me directly about what I have done lately. Talked about what he did as European Champion. Cut me down for the little that I have done for this company. He focused on me like he had something against me, like I was his number one enemy. I’m not his number one enemy, though, he is.
The good doctor takes a long look at the tickets on the phone, they’re good seats.
“You should not go to this.”
“What? Do you know how much these cost me? It’s possibly the last show ever at the Legion. No way am I not going to be a part of that.”
“I can see how much they cost and I understand why you would want to go, but you will be in danger.”
“From the guy who used to think he was a member of the Beatles? I’m not worried.”
The young man turns to walk away from the doctor but the doctor grabs him by the arm first.
“You should be.”
So what have I done lately StormCrow? I’ve been locked up making myself better. Maybe you’ve been doing some of the same. Maybe you’re sober now. But I spent months locked up working on myself and I had to escape from that hell in order to get free. What did you do to get here? Wake up on the couch of a cult leader one day and say “goodbye” before getting on a plane? I fought to help myself recover, escaped the hell hole I was trapped in and snuck on a boat to get here. You got on a plane, probably first class, and flew here. I have been working hard since the moment I found out about this match to prepare. You’ve been hiding in a cult and skated here. That’s what I’ve been doing lately StormCrow.
The young man seems a bit startled by the Doctor, but turns around and continues to listen to the doctor.
“Scorpion may seem harmless to outside viewers, but I have spent nearly a year with the man.”
“Yeah, and?”
“His psychosis is much worse than it has appeared to those of you that have followed him on television.”
“You’ve said that, but how? What should I be afraid of? He’s just a wrestler.”
“No, he’s not.”
I know that’s not all you’ve been up to. I know while you’ve been in that cult you’ve returned to the ring, and I’m sure you’ve done plenty of stuff of note, but none of that matters to me because none of that involves the European Championship. The one title that has been close to my heart. The one title that I have always cared for more than anything. The one you claim you held a record amount of time. While that may be true. While in the record books it may say you had a long run as title holder, there should be an asterisk next to your name. You may have held that title the for a long time but there is a difference between the runs I had with that belt and yours. You see, I actually defended that belt. I was held to the standard of defending every thirty days and I went above and beyond and defended on shows weekly. Meanwhile, you were not held to that standard because the man who held me to that standard was too busy making sure the X*Crown was defended properly. Is that your fault? No, V is the one who handed you a second belt and wanted you to defend them both and my title got pushed into the background. That doesn’t change that while you held the distinction of being the longest reigning European Champion you are also the one who tarnished the shine on the championship that I brought here.
The young man looks a bit startled by the revelation that Scorpion is not just a wrestler.
“At one point in his life he may have been just a wrestler. That first major break in his personality, though, it changed him.”
“When he began listening to think he was a fisherman who loved Bruce Springsteen?”
“Yes, but then he came back to his normal state, but he wasn’t really normal he was forever changed, and it wasn’t the last time.”
“Yeah, he came back to the XHF thinking he was Lennon.”
“Yes, but there were so many times in between and they changed him, created something else inside of him.”
You may not think much of me Crow. You might think I’m just a crazy old man who got the praise from the AWF brass and fans that should have belonged to you. You may think that I am nothing but another person in your way, but I am not, I am so much more. I am a man on a mission. I am a man ready to get back to where I once was. I am a man ready to return the prestige to the title that I have loved, but I am also so much more. Are you ready to find out what I am? I don’t think that you are. I don’t think you want to know what I am. I don’t think you’re ready for any of us. But I am, and you will learn that first hand.
“The inner workings of the brain are fragile, and every time that he had a break in his psyche he became more and more damaged.”
“Yeah, but wouldn’t that make him less dangerous?”
“No, it has created a monster inside of him. Another personality. One that lives off of his rage. One that comes out when he feels he needs it most. While most of his visible personalities seem harmless, at least to you and me a spectators, there is one that is dangerous to anyone that gets in his way. I am afraid if he does not achieve his goal that one will come out, and there’s no telling what he will do.”
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that Scorpion has a demon inside of him, and it could very well be unleashed at the AXW show.”
"Wait, that sounds like gimmick infringement. Dreadvan is the one who's a demon."
"Yeah, but this isn't a gimmick, this is mental health and Scorpion isn't under control of his demon, and it could emerge at any time."
Are you ready StormCrow? Are you ready Van? Are you ready Swann? I am ready. And I will do whatever it takes, WHATEVER it takes, to fulfill my destiny and return that European Championship to where it belongs. Do you really want to stand in my way? You shouldn’t.
