One Last Hope
The War against Carthage has taken a turn for disaster. Thamptis has been slain, but the destruction of the Dark Warlock has given rise to an even darker evil. Skalar the Chaos Mage, Sikarin Tsooth, and Lord Golbez lead a limitless army. They destroyed both sides of the battle in Asgard, seizing the Eternal City, and invading the Earth. They destroy everything that opposes them and cull everyone who surrender. The three leaders of the twisted armies have landed outside of Ruined Luxor, setting their eyes to expand their slaughter through the portal that hides within.
The coalition force that was once the sword to slay Carthage now stands as humanity's One Last Hope.
State of the World
This is Kevin Steinz, Communications Officer of the Warhammer Space Station designated as "The Eye".
I do not know how many of you remain on the ground to receive this report, but I am recording it and sending it to any Warhammer facilities still capable of getting this transmission. This transmission will be captured by all Comm sats, recorded, and replayed to all working Warhammer systems around the world.
The world is under attack. From the satellites watching over the world, it seems as if it is happening everywhere at once! Communications say that a number of beings have identified themselves as Overlords, but that they owe their allegiance to a trio of beings. Golbez, Sikarin Tsooth, and Skalar the Chaos Mage.
If I might interject a moment, if I ever thought that someone would betray the company and the entire world into damnation and destruction...it would have been Sikarin Tsooth. Seriously, why didn't we have this guy killed forever ago?
Anyway. The deal is this. There may be about ten cities across the entire world, not counting those in the Aztec and the United States, that have a population above fifty thousand. The rest have been destroyed. The Aztec have been untouched and I'm going to assume that is because Valora has betrayed a dying Carthage to join with Skalar. The fighting has slowed down in the United States, but there yet remains no cities with a population above one hundred thousand. One of Skalar's Overlords is conducting the war there, smashing down American defenses and forcing as many as he can into surrender. Those who surrender in the United States and Canada are not culled like in other places. A mystery to be sure.
By cities being destroyed, I mean no two stones lie next to each other destroyed.
People are fighting. They really have no other choice when surrender still means being culled down to one out of a hundred lives. As a human race, we are being exterminated. Though, I would be wrong in that statement as every race is being treated much the same. The Goblin Tribes in Europe are also being massacred. This is one event that should unify us all, human and non, as we fight to stave off extinction.
Of the Board of Directors, I know there has been a lot of change of late. This will come as no shock to anyone that I have been able to reach none of them. Not the Board members or Micheal Vastrix himself. Hong Kong, and by extension the Warhammer HQ, have been destroyed.
I do not know what can be done to stop this force as they do not seem to abide by any real agenda other than to destroy...everything. It's with the understanding that the chain of command has been completely shot that I admit this. I have used the spy sats to find my home in the United States to check on my family. Gone.
I have little to live for and less to report to. I have a location of this Chaos Mage and will use the secret weapon of this station to try to destroy him.
This weapon will come as a surprise to all but the old Board members and the small rotating crew of this station. We have a laser beam powerful enough to destroy entire cities and puncture into the Earth's very core to totally wipe out an entire region. The catch is that using this weapon will bring all systems offline for twenty-four hours. By which time I and all of the six other crew members onboard this vessel will be dead.
Skalar is one hundred miles north of Luxor. Taking him out will also destroy the gathered coalition there, but I believe that destroying this one being will solve our problems. I hope.
Please...forgive me.
I don't understand it! The beam should have struck him and destroyed him! A beam has intercepted the laser and stopped it in the upper atmosphere! It must be him! I'll keep the laser trained on him as long as I can. Surely he'll weaken and-
Prepare for the Worst
The conference room is silent as Allen Anderson turns off the recording. In the room sits Captain Trevor Maathai, Dixie Clement, and Father Nathan O'Connell.
Anderson: "This is what the light show was about this morning, and what exploded in the sky for all to see. After the Stone Rain, the Warhammer Corporation had launched a back up satellite system for the Communication systems. It also worked as a spy network that was coordinated with the space station known as the Eye."
Maathai: "Which apparently was equipped with a Doomsday Weapon?"
Anderson: "So it would seem. I had no idea that this would have even been considered, but I'm really not shocked. Anyway, the systems are still in place. The Eye is just destroyed. I have some computer geeks looking at getting the spy network to channel all reports to a dozen or so tablets that we have here so that we know what's going on out there."
Father Nathan: "So, Skalar is North. Is he coming here?"
Clement: "He wants the portal."
It wasn't a question so much as a statement of fact. Earth was essentially conquered in all but name. Through the portal was a world that could not be accessed through any means but the portal that existed only here.
Anderson: "And we will stop him here. We have a strong enough force that would have dealt a death blow to Carthage. We are not weakened as those in Asgard were. We can do this."
Father Nathan: "And if we can't? What then?"
A weighty silence falls upon the room as no one wants to say the obvious answer to the question. There is no place on Earth they could run to. Valora's Aztec empire hasn't been attacked, but only President Lee thought this a good thing.
Everyone else assumed she had thrown her lot in with Skalar.
Anderson slowly smiles, but it's strained mirth.
Anderson: "Who wants to live for-"
"Then you will retreat through the portal and live to fight another day."
The spirit of Rose Johnston flickers into view.
"The portal is no barrier. You can pass and it is certain that the Vesperians will aid you in your hour of need against Skalar. Theirs is a world where the Gods walked amongst them and waged war upon each other. Their world bears the scars of such. They may possess knowledge buried in secret places on how to defeat that which was thought to be unkillable."
Father Nathan nods with a smile.
Father Nathan: "That would be a good option. Surely there is some lore here as well that could be found to determine what would work to defeat him?"
Anderson frowns.
Anderson: "I think most of the nations that were around at the time have turned to dust. If we could revive King Goldenfire, he was alive at that time. I left him with Jeremiah Vastrix to take to a small lab. There would be the homes of Sikarin and Golbez. There would also be the island where Jeremiah, Terel, and I discovered that King Goldenfire helped defeat Skalar. People called the Tentarians led the charge. The old island we were at held the last of them I think."
Clement: "Then, we just need to get there and see if there's any other notes!"
About then is when the ground begins to shake as if a massive earthquake is hitting.
Maathai: "What the Hell? I'll hit the cameras to find out what's going on!"
A few clicks gets Captain Maathai to an external camera. That's when they all see a massive stone wall growing into place.
Anderson: "Wonderful. I've always wanted to be in a death trap."
Maathai: "You need new standards."
Wall of Stone
Ten miles North of the Luxor encampment, Skalar the Chaos Mage, Sikarin Tsooth, and Golbez stand with a thousand of Golbez's Chaos Knights.
They look upon the ruined city of Luxor with disdain as if they could see the coalition forces camped there.
Skalar: "This is the great force that these mortals thought would put Carthage to an end."
Tsooth: "They have destroyed much of the leadership beneath their leader. It would have been a stretch, but if I had not brought you back, they may have defeated all but Thamptis. They could have done it, but at greater cost than they could have imagined."
Golbez grunts, his hand reflexively reaching for the massive double bladed axe on his back.
Golbez: "Can they threaten us?"
Tsooth: "Only in their wildest dreams. They would be better off escaping."
Skalar chuckles, lifting a hand.
The ground shakes as giant spines of stone rise up from the ground all around the encampment. They smash into each other and knit together to form a giant wall a mile high with only an opening of several hundred feet.
Golbez: "We'll only have one avenue of attack this way."
Tsooth: "They won't have an avenue of escape this way."
Skalar: "Exactly. This will bring out the most from these mortals. They are cornered and they will think us limited."
Bullets sing through the air, bouncing off of Skalar. To the East, forty soldiers open fire as they rush to the front of the Chaos line. They focus their fire on Skalar, Golbez, and Sikarin. None of which seem bothered by the gunfire.
Skalar: "Sikarin...who are these?"
Tsooth: "Americans who think to sacrifice themselves in defeating the leaders of their enemy. President Lee taught them such courage. Should we enlighten them to the backbone their leader really had?"
Skalar: "No. It does little good to bring news of treachery to men who will die now."
Golbez holds up a hand and his Knights behind them hold their position as the American soldiers form a semi-circle around the Chaos Mage and his two Hands.
"Surrender!"
Skalar smiles.
Skalar: "I was that brave once. So long ago that the world had yet even to feel the birth pangs of Atlantis. It was then, at the birthplace of all history, that I found the Skull of Everlasting Death as it was cast here from another dimension of unknown origin. It has been so long, I had forgotten such things as fear or courage. I have always been...power."
The Americans look at each other with uncertainty before pointing their guns at him again.
"Surrender or die!"
Skalar: "I choose death. Sikarin, will you do the honors?"
Tsooth: "Gladly."
Sikarin directs his staff at the soldiers with a whispered spell. The Americans open fire, but their rounds slow down to a crawl as they fly through the air.
Another quick motion sends the bullets back at top speed through the heads of the soldiers who fired them. As they all fall at once, Sikarin laughs.
Tsooth: "They knew as the bullets left their guns that they were all going to die without causing the slightest bit of harm."
Golbez: "I think you play too much, but dead is dead."
Skalar: "That is is. Let us continue to our destination. A new world awaits our touch. Golbez, when we get to the entrance, you will leave your Knights behind to ensure nothing escapes. We three will go in alone."
To Arms!
Inside of the partially rebuilt arena, Captain Trevor Maathai strides through the arena to Anderson's office. He opens the door and walks in without knocking to see Anderson watching reports from Warhammer spy sats.
Anderson: "President Lee has been missing since the destruction of Richmond."
Maathai: "Sir. Skalar, Golbez, and Sikarin have entered the wall alone."
Anderson: "Alone? Why would they do that? It's our chance to take them out!"
Captain Maathai brings up his sidearm and checks it before holstering it.
Maathai: "I know. I'm going out to help coordinate coalition forces to bring them down and stop this destruction."
Anderson shakes his head with a frown.
Anderson: "I need you here. With just the three of them, don't you think that the leader they appointed can handle coordinating the forces to stop them?"
Maathai: "He asked for my help. I'll be back once the three are dead."
Anderson sighs as Captain Maathai leaves. He goes back to looking at the reports.
Anderson: "Will there be a world left to save?"
Opening
The lights in the arena remain on.
It's important to note this as the lights normally dim at the start of the show, but for security reasons, the lights remain on.
Not that a lot of fans are searching for their seats for this show. Even before this event became a last stand, only a few hundred tickets were sold at the highest ever prices to ensure only the most insane of people came to see the show. Even these people were refunded their money upon arrival so their families, what remained of them, had something to live on.
Scenes from Asgard and the slaughters around the world begin flashing on the screen as a cover of Pat Benetar's "Invincible" by Awaken Demons begins to play.
The few fans in the audience cheer wildly for what could be the final wrestling show in the entire world.
Once the song ends, we go down to the commentary table with Selena Sanchez and Connor Silverfield.
Sanchez: "The atmosphere is full of tension tonight, despite the small allowance for fans to come and watch the show. We have been trapped inside of a circular wall of stone with only a single way in or out. The Coalition forces that were ready to destroy Carthage once and for all now stand as a last ditch effort to defeat the evil that has all but destroyed our world. Even this doesn't sound promising, even to my own ears."
Silverfield: "It is when things seem at their darkest when the promise of Kyjun really shines through enough for those men brave enough to follow His light to follow it."
Sanchez: "What?"
Silverfield: "Just something that's said at Vesperian churches that honor Kyjun. He taught us to never fall to despair, because we can do anything once we have the belief that we can do so."
Sanchez: "Didn't Kyjun die?"
Silverfield: "And things were at their very darkest then, but we rallied. We fought back, and the evils that threatened to enslave us all was hurled back North. We do not need the words of a God to guide our actions, but they did set us on the right path."
Sanchez: "Well, maybe those are wise words. Despite the death and destruction that will be going on outside of our doors, we have a fine show going on tonight. Chris Mmachi will be taking on Harry Houdini in our opening match."
Silverfield: "I have watched past matches with this Harry on the magic box-"
Sanchez: "Television."
Silverfield: "Right. I'm not too impressed with the skills that he had been showing in the ring. I think that this Mmachi fellow will have an easy time of things."
Sanchez: "Then we have Frietag taking on Hoskuld Lokison. I have heard reports that Tony Manzell has been back to full time management of Frietag's training. Frietag's main faults were getting out of shape and his training was for military than wrestling. So he knew how to kill someone with his hands, but not so much pinning them to a mat. Hoskuld was spotted outside in Luxor sometime before the show."
Silverfield: "I still have to wonder why a God would lower himself to fighting in the ring. And Hoskuld can't be in the right frame of mind with the death of pretty much most of his adopted family."
Sanchez: "To be fair, when he came to the ASA originally, he was a drunk drug addicted sex fiend mortal who was only wrestling here on an agreement with the United Nations after spilling his guts on the global terrorist, Johnathan Mills, who as it seems later turned out to be his son."
Silverfield: "What?"
Sanchez: "Nothing. Then we get a grudge match between Khloe Kapla and Father Nathan. It seems that Khloe has been taking losing very badly of late. She ambushed Dasha in Russia during an important battle outside of the ring where they both could have been killed. She has a grudge against Father Nathan for preventing her from getting the title shot against Dasha so she could claim the revenge for losing the title in the first place."
Silverfield: "Breathe, Selena. Breath! That sounds long and complex. So Khloe is going into this match unbalanced. It isn't really a good thing."
Sanchez: "My thoughts exactly. Then we get to our main event of the night. Dixie Clement takes on Mr. Clowny for the Ascension championship. These two have fought at least once before with Clowny getting stomped into the ground. Now, we are at a critical junction. If Dixie wins then she becomes champion and can get a shot at the World title if she wins her next defense. If Clowny wins, he gets a World title shot at Dasha at the next show."
Silverfield: "That's the way to-"
Sanchez: "This assuming that tonight isn't the very last wrestling show in the entire world."
Silverfield: "We will win the day, or at least survive it."
Sanchez: "I wish I had your faith."
Silverfield: "My faith in Qeldir is unshakable. I do have faith in the teachings left behind by Kyjun though."
Sanchez: "Let's get down to the ring where the opening match is about to begin."
Mmachi vs Houdini
Wilson: "This next match is scheduled for one fall! Featuring first the challenger, weighing in at two hundred and seventy-five pounds...Chris Mmachi!"
Can't Keep Still" by KPM Music starts playing. Chris Mmachi walks in and crouches down. After a few moments, he suddenly jumps up and stretches out his arms. Jet flames are set off. Chris walks down the ramp, occasionally doing a bit of shadow boxing. He reaches ringside and raises one arm before jumping onto the apron. This sets off red fireworks at the four corners. He walks in between the middle and top rope and precedes to go to the four corners. He climbs up two, flexing his arms at each one he climbs. He then goes to an empty corner and starts jogging in place.
Sanchez: "Mmachi seems ready for this match."
Silverfield: "It is a chance for him to show what he can do before what could be the end, as you say. Desperate times call for desperate skills."
Wilson: "And his opponent, weighing in at one hundred and ninety-nine pounds...Harry Houdini!"
"Great Escape" by Audio Empire begins as Harry Houdini walks out from the back. The fans begin to boo until he drops from sight and pops up in the middle of the ring much like toast from the toaster. This gives the fans a reason to cheer with Harry giving bows to the few fans in the ring with a grand smile.
Sanchez: "Few can match Harry's thirst for grand showmanship."
Silverfield: "And few can match his total lack of wrestling ability."
The bell rings to start the match and Chris quickly locks up with Harry before hitting him in the midsection with a few knee strikes. This is followed by a headbutt and a body slam. Chris looks to the ground before punt kicking Harry in the side of the head.
Sanchez: "Looks like that kick would have cleared fifty yards!"
Silverfield: "What?"
Sanchez: "It's a football reference."
Silverfield: "Oh. I hadn't gotten into football yet."
Chris picks Harry up and-
Sanchez: "Hardcore Driver? Already?"
Silverfield: "Why extend out a painfully boring match?"
Chris hooks a leg for the cover.
One...Two...Three!
Wilson: "Winner of the match via pinfall...Chris Mmachi!"
Silverfield: "As expected, Mmachi stomps Houdini."
Sanchez: "You are right, of course."
Frietag vs Hoskuld
Wilson: "This next match is scheduled for one fall! Featuring first, hailing from Boston, Massachusetts...Frietag!"
"Gently" by Slipknot begins as Frietag walks out from the back with Tony Manzell close behind. Frietag silently walks to the ring as Tony Manzell grins and talks with cheering fans.
Sanchez: "People remember the determination of Tony Manzell and how he stood his ground against whatever was thrown at him in the IWA. He is a true example of human spirit triumphing over the obstacles in life."
Silverfield: "Tony Manzell an example of human spirit? From what I have seen on the magic box-"
Sanchez: "Television."
Silver: "Whatever. What I have seen, he has a mouth to encompass all of humanity."
Wilson: "And his oppenent...hailing from Asgard...Hoskuld Lokison!"
"Loki God of Fire" by Manowar begins with Hoskuld Lokison walking out from the back with Celes on his shoulder. The crowd cheer until they are joined by Hela, Norse Goddess of the Dead, in a night black dress with cut outs that leave little to the imagination. With so much deathly pale skin on display, the cheers become torn between cheers and a chorus of wolf whistles. Though the occasional whimper at seeing the Death Goddess is also heard. The three head down to the ring where Celes vanishes, appearing by Hela's side so that Hoskuld can enter the ring.
Silverfield: "Isn't Hoskuld technically homeless now? Asgard did fall."
Sanchez: "The Gods are a reflection of Mankind. They too have their own pride and spirit. Asgard will always remain their home in their hearts."
As the bell rings to start the match, Frietag cocks his head as he watches Hoskuld casually lean in the corner. And so he stands in the middle of the ring, but he doesn't wait long before he motions to the ref.
The ref walks over to Hoskuld, telling him to get into the match. Hoskuld nods, launching himself across the ring to level Frietag with a clothesline.
Frietag is up quickly, but Hoskuld grabs him for a brain claw while sending punches into his midsection with his other hand. Frietag manages to catch the hand by the wrist, turning it to get Hoskuld to release him. He backs up a step, backhanding the God of Excess before launching his own assault of punches. He presses Hoskuld back to the ropes, kicking him in the gut to seat him on the second rope.
Frietag backs up a few steps and runs as if to punt Hoskuld in the jaw. Hoskuld catches the foot, coming out of the ropes. He swings Frietag through the air by the foot, releasing Frietag to be send through the turnbuckles to slam his shoulder into the ring post.
Sanchez: "Frietag fighting here, but Hoskuld showing off his Godly abilities in the ring."
Silverfield: "I've watched this man from mortal to God. He has shown a lot more focus of late."
Hoskuld pulls Frietag out from the corner, but catches an elbow in his midsection for his efforts. Frietag spins around, hitting a European uppercut that sends Hoskuld crashing to the mat.
Hoskuld starts to rise, but is taken down when Frietag jumps onto his chest with both feet. This keeps Hoskuld down long enough for the ref to go in to count the cover.
One...Two...Hoskuld rolls out of the pin, nearly bringing Frietag down. Instead, Frietag kicks Hoskuld in the gut a few times while Tony Manzell cheers him on from the outside.
Frietag looks around at the crowd, dropping down to his knees, and striking Hoskuld in the spot between chin and throat with a deadly punch. The crowd quickly turn on Frietag from such a move.
Sanchez: "What the *beep*? I think that move was from Frietag's Shocktrooper days used to kill a fallen enemy when conserving ammo in the field!"
Silverfield: "A bold move to use against someone who can absorb that kind of punishment and still live."
Hela holds her hand on Celes's shoulder, shaking her head when the young girl screams for her daddy to get up. Hoskuld rolls around, holding his throat, blood pouring from his mouth. Even Frietag starts to look down at him with some concern.
That is until Hoskuld sits up with a laugh, spitting out a mouthful of ketchup packets. He rises up to face a shocked Frietag.
Sanchez: "Hoskuld played Frietag!"
Silverfield: "Cunning."
Hoskuld grabs Frietag, bringing him down with a hip toss. Frietag is back up quickly, but is down again when Hoskuld hits a neckbreaker. He rolls Frietag over and covers.
One...Two...Frietag kicks out!
Hoskuld is up in a heartbeat, pulling Frietag up into a press slam position.
Sanchez: "This could be it!"
Tony Manzell reaches in, pulling on Hoskuld's legs to trip him. He falls to the mat with Frietag landing on his head and shoulders for the cover!
One...Two...Thre-Hoskuld kicks out!
The ref gets up and admonishes Tony Manzell while Frietag slips on a pair of brass knuckles, smashing Hoskuld in the side of the head three times before putting them away and go for the cover again. Celes vanishes from Hela's side and appears next to Tony, who jumps at the appearance of the little girl.
One...Two...Three-NO!
Sanchez: "The ref saw Hoskuld's foot on the ropes! He didn't see that Celes had done something to make it levitate onto the rope though."
Silverfield: "All fair in love and war, right?"
Tony yells as Celes to stay out of the match. Celes backs away with a smirk, and Tony turns around...nearly colliding with Hela.
Inside the ring, Frietag pulls Hoskuld into the center of the ring. He grabs Hoskuld by the throat, slamming the back of his head onto the mat a few times before rising and-
Sanchez: "Seated Senton! This one might be all over!"
Hela touches Tony on the forehead. His eyes go wide and you can faintly see laughing skulls inside of his pupils as he begins to scream and curl up into a fetal position.
Inside the ring, the ref gets into position to count the pinfall.
One...Two...Thre-Hoskuld kicks out!
There is a silence in the crowd as the kick out is taken in, and then the few hundred fans fill the arena with the sounds of cheering. Frietag kneels up, looking to the ref in an accusatory fashion as if he had done a slow count. The ref shakes his head. Frietag changes position, going for the cover again with his elbow going across the face of Frietag.
One...Two...Hoskuld kicks out!
Frietag cries out in anger, mounting Hoskuld, and rains punches down onto him. This time drawing blood as it splatters to the left and right of Hoskuld's face.
Sanchez: "Why isn't the ref stopping this?"
Silverfield: "Something odd is happening."
Hoskuld slowly reaches his hand out to a nearby corner. The bottom turnbuckle splits open as a can of spinach drops out, and rolls to Hoskuld's hand.
Sanchez: "Someone tell me this just isn't happening."
Silverfield: "What does this mean? It's a way your people preserve foodstuffs."
The can rolls into Hoskuld's hand and he uses it to smash Frietag in the head with it to get him off.
Sanchez: "Hoskuld should be disqualified for that, but so too should have been Frietag when Tony interfered."
Silverfield: "So rules thrown out of the window as death looms near?"
Hoskuld sits up, squeezing the dented can. The contents fly up into the air where Hoskuld catches them in a single bite. He jumps to his feet, a ripple passing through his body as he becomes overly muscled?
Sanchez: "He's being rather cartoonish right now. It's-"
Silverfield: "Excessive?"
Sanchez: "Yeah, that."
Frietag snarls and rushes at Hoskuld, but is punched hard enough to be sent back into the ropes where he stretches them back. He comes back at Hoskuld like an arrow where he is caught and powerslamed onto the mat for the cover.
One...Two...Thre-Tony Manzell pulls Frietag from the ring!
Sanchez: "When did Tony Manzell recover from whatever Hela did to him?"
Silverfield: "I don't know. I never saw him get up!"
The ref yells at Tony for his interference, but it doesn't do any good. Frietag leans on the ring apron as Tony smacks him and yells at him to try to bring him around.
Hoskuld stands in his own corner with a chuckle, summoning up a tankard of mead. He swigs down half of it and walks to the side of the ring, pouring the rest on Frietag's head.
Sanchez: "That woke Frietag right up!"
Silverfield: "And with whatever that green stuff is looking to have worn off!"
Sanchez: "Spinach."
Silverfield: "Didn't look like any spinach that I ever ate."
Frietag gets up on the ring apron where he is met by Hoskuld. Frietag ducks down to send his shoulder into Hoskuld's midsection before going back up to flip over Hoskuld, and bring him down with a sunset flip for the cover.
One...Two...Thre-Hoskuld kicks out!
Sanchez: "How did he kick out of that?"
Silverfield: "You saw how?"
Sanchez: "Nevermind."
Frietag gets up, grabbing Hoskuld as he rises. He presses Hoskuld under the chin to press the Asgardian over the ropes while sinking his fist into Hoskuld's midsection over and over again. He turns and brings Hoskuld to the mat with a cutter. A Seated Senton later and Frietag covers for the pinfall.
One...Two...Celes appears laying on the mat! The ref yells at her to leave the ring. She giggles and vanishes. He goes back to the count.
One...Two...Thre-Hoskuld kicks out!
Silverfield: "He managed to escape defeat again! Thanks to his daughter."
Sanchez: "Will his luck last much longer though?"
Frietag gets up and begins stomping Hoskuld without mercy. Hoskuld sends a palm up that catches Frietag on the sole of his boot. He thrusts upwards, lunging his body up in a move that sends Frietag backwards over the top rope and into the security railing. Tony Manzell comes to his side to check on him. Hoskuld rises up, but then uses the ropes to remain upright.
Sanchez: "Both are slowing down. This match is going to end soon I think."
Silverfield: "But who will win the day, I wonder?"
Frietag slowly gets up, catching Hoskuld as he dives over the top rope. He turns with the momentum in hand to drive Hoskuld into the ring apron. He rolls Hoskuld in and follows. Another Seated Senton and Frietag goes for the cover.
One...Two...Three!
Sanchez: "It took a war, but Frietag managed to defeat Hoskuld Lokison!"
Silverfield: "I'm surprised at this outcome since I was certain that the God was going to win."
Wilson: "The winner of the match via pinfall...Frietag!"
Courage
Captain Trevor Maathai stands on top of a Warhammer owned Rhino-class troop carrier. The giant horn on the front of the tank like vehicle between short range guns help it punch into buildings to unleash its cargo of Shocktroopers.
He looks across the battlefield North of the ruined city that is now held within supernatural walls of stone, gritting his teeth at the destruction before him.
Only three entered. The leaders Skalar, Golbez, and Sikarin Tsooth. Despite having a force capable of wiping an entire empire from the pages of History...they still come.
Ammo bounced off of Golbez like rain, even heavy explosive rounds did nothing. Nothing touched Sikarin Tsooth. Skalar seemed to be a special case. Shots either did nothing, bounced off of a force field, or did random chaotic things.
Like teleporting away from him to appear inside of the tank that fired the round to destroy it.
He doesn't see a way to win through direct violence. Nothing has even fazed them, but there was still that portal. He types orders into his phone to send off to commanders of different forces.
"Fall back to the arena! We can do nothing here! If you are driving a fast moving vehicle and have the courage to face death head on, take up ramming speed! We need to slow them down as much as possible."
Within seconds the field changes as most of the remaining forces begin falling back to the ruined arena. Vehicles begin streaking to slam into the three as they walk side by side to try to create as much wreckage around them as possible to slow them down.
Trevor hunches down and pats the top of the Rhino.
Maathai: "Let's do this thing."
The Rhino picks up speed in response, but as it gets close, a blue beam of energy cores through the vehicle from front to back. Trevor flattens himself down as the wreckage around the three explodes into bits. He hisses as a bit of red hot shrapnel slices open his back along the shoulder blade.
He leaps from the back of the Rhino to land in a roll where he stops in front of the three. He stands up, dusting himself off.
Maathai: "Very well."
Skalar looks at the man with a smile, his gold flecked dark skin faintly sparkling in the moonlight.
Skalar: "Very well?"
Maathai: "I accept your surrender. Your executions will be swift and painless."
Golbez hefts his massive axe, blood still dripping from it.
Golbez: "He's insane. Let me end him, Lord."
Tsooth: "Captain Trevor Maathai. You were always an amusing soldier. Always happy just being an ordinary Shocktrooper leader instead of rising through elite ranks. You die as you lived, a leader of the faceless."
Trevor looks between the three and shrugs with a grin.
Maathai: "It is ever the burden of the Shocktrooper to be ground to dust in the Wheels of Fate. I have the Courage to die as I lived, Sikarin. Do you?"
Skalar holds out a hand as Sikarin begins the words to a spell.
Skalar: "This is not the time for games. Our destiny awaits. Golbez, kill him."
Trevor sidesteps the axe as it becomes buried in the ground next to him. He jumps onto the halft of the axe itself, running up into a jump to slam the barrel of his handgun into the visor slots of Golbez's helmet so he can empty the gun into the giant's head.
Trevor drops down to his feet as blood rains down on him from above. Golbez rips the gun from his helmet, crushing it into dust. He grabs Trevor by the front of his uniform to lift him high into the air to bring him face to face.
Golbez: "My bones are stronger than my armor. You cannot kill me."
Trevor slips something inside of the helmet.
Maathai: "This won't bother any but the flesh then."
Golbez drops Trevor as an explosion rings out from inside of the armor that sends a stream of fire from the front of the helmet. The thrust of the event sends Golbez flying backwards and onto his back. Sikarin just chuckles.
Tsooth: "Why, Golbez. I hadn't seen you downed since you went a round with King Goldenfire!"
Trevor jumps up, planting a small circular device on Sikarin's chest. It lights up and sends arcs of power coursing through his body. He holds onto the staff with both hands, seeming to melt.
Tsooth: "What?"
Maathai: "You've been with Warhammer since its birth. You think that we hadn't taken samples to try to fight you?"
Sikarin's shape quickly stabilizes. He smiles as the device drops off of him.
Tsooth: "I'm well aware of all samples taken from me and what happened to them. You want in on a secret? Everything that happened to these samples that seemed to work as a weapon against me are things that I allowed. Fools."
Skalar shakes his head with a laugh, motioning with his hand. Trevor is knocked to the ground, spines pinning his arms and legs to the ground.
Skalar: "You mortals and your ingenious toys. A new world waits for me to extinguish all hope. It's long past time for yours to fade."
Maathai: "You will be stopped. You were stopped before, and you will again."
Skalar leans down, stabbing his finger into the center of Trevor's chest.
Skalar: "Of course I was, dear boy. Though there are none left alive who know how to stop me again."
From a distance, we see a large explosion overtake all four. When the light dims back down again, Skalar, Golbez, and Sikarin Tsooth are once again walking toward the arena.
Grudge Match
Wilson: "This next match is scheduled to be an Iron Maiden match! Force your opponent into the Iron Maiden at ringside and close the door to win the match! Featuring first, hailing Addis Adaba, Ethiopia...Khloe Kapla!"
"Steampunk Revolution" by Abney Park begins playing as Khloe Kapla walks out from the back with Delcan and Keira at her side to a chorus of boos. They walk down to the ring with Khloe walking by the Iron Maiden laying against a stand to be at a forty-five degree angle. She runs her hand across the steam driven gear work that will automatically lock the door into place when it is shut with a smile.
Sanchez: "Did Khloe design the Iron Maiden to be used in this match?"
Silverfield: "It would seem to be so."
Khloe Kapla rolls into the ring, stretching while waiting for her opponent.
Sanchez: "It seems that Khloe has been rather obsessive of late. Defeat her in the ring and she will become obsessed with defeating you for it."
Silverfield: "She is a rather ravishing young woman. Mahap I should try my hand at defeating her in the ring so she can transfer her obsession to me. Then maybe we can work on things other than battle."
Sanchez: "I don't think that would work. Just saying."
Silverfield: "Just saying what?"
Sanchez: "That she would not turn her obsession to amore."
Silverfield: "Ah. Well said then."
Wilson: "And her opponent, hailing from Dublin, Ireland...Father Nathan O'Connell!"
The lights in the arena dim as ‘God’s Gonna Cut You Down’ by Johnny Cash plays over the PA and Father Nathan makes his way out from the back, carrying his cross. He looks over the crowd and takes in their reaction before nodding and he his joined by Dixie Clement and Mary.
They make their way down to the ring, Nathan setting up his cross to stand on its own as he climbs into the ring and prepares for the fight. Dixie Clement and Mary take up their positions by the cross, looking warily to Delcan and Keira.
Sanchez: "Father Nathan's support group actually came down to the ring with him."
Silverfield: "It is probably where he can protect them the best."
Sanchez: "True."
Father Nathan looks over at the Iron Maiden outside of the ring and shakes his head.
Father Nathan: "You have so much anger built up within you, Khloe. This is not the way to deal with it."
Kapla: "It is for me! Come at me, old man!"
Father Nathan does just that, ready to knock Khloe's teeth in when Khloe holds out a hand.
Kapla: "Wait!"
Father Nathan stops in his tracks with a frown.
Father Nathan: "What?"
Kapla: "I learned a lesson from fighting against Dasha."
Sanchez: "What?"
Silverfield: "Delcan and Keira are making a move, going around the ring."
Delcan shifts into his wolf hybrid form going one way as Keira stalks around the other, claws and fangs out. Father Nathan turns to see Dixie Clement draw a gun, pulling Mary behind her.
Father Nathan: "No!"
Khloe kicks Father Nathan between the legs, dropping him with a DDT. She rolls him over, and drives her elbow in just under his ribcage, holding it in place while pounding her fist with her other hand to drive the point of her elbow down. She rolls up to her feet with a smile, motioning to her friends, who back off quickly.
Kapla: "You're right. I won't kill your friends. Just distract you long enough to begin."
Father Nathan rolls to his hands and knees, trying to catch his breath. Khloe moonsaults into a knee drive into the small of his back to driver him face first into the mat. She shifts position, locking on a Camel Clutch.
Sanchez: "Khloe Kapla starts the match off with a feint and in brutal fashion. See what her obsession leads to? Do you really want a part of that?"
Silverfield: "Yeah. I'm going to have to withdraw my previous remarks."
Father Nathan tries to reach the ropes, but finds that he cannot. He gets his arms down, sets his knees, and launches both himself with Khloe on top of him to get to the ropes. Khloe breaks the hold quickly, pulling Father Nathan up, and dravishing him over the top rope. She rushes to bounce off the ropes on the opposite side to come back at Father Nathan.
Khloe leaps through the air to drive a knee between Father Nathan's shoulders, but he spins around at the last moment, and dives to catch Khloe on the jaw with a punch that drives her to the mat. Father Nathan drops down to his knees right by her.
Sanchez: "That was a powerful blow, but Father Nathan has absorbed a lot of punishment in a short amount of time."
Silverfield: "I think he can bounce back from this. I sense something different in him."
Khloe Kapla slowly gets to her feet, holding her jaw. Father Nathan jumps up, greeting her with a belly to belly suplex that leads to applying a Triangle choke.
Sanchez: "Father Nathan's turned it around!"
Silverfield: "He is stronger than before. Isn't he?"
Father Nathan breaks the hold, lifting Khloe up to her feet. Khloe punches him, but he just returns fire with a series of lefts and rights that stagger Khloe back to the corner. He sets her up onto the top turnbuckle, and follows. He gets up top, pulling her up to bring her up into a superplex position.
Sanchez: "Looks like we're going to have a big drop!"
Khloe curls her legs to over balance Father Nathan to make him fall backwards. She lands on her feet, adjusting her grip, and throws Father Nathan across the ring.
Silverfield: "You were right. That was a big drop!"
Khloe runs across the ring, grabbing a rising Father Nathan up as if for a bodyslam, but then twirls, and throws him out of the ring to slam into the security railing. She grabs the top rope, pulling down, and launching herself over. Father Nathan is up in a heartbeat, catching Khloe, and dropping her chest across the ring railing. She lands inside of the crowd and he falls back into a seated position.
Silverfield: "Father Nathan and Khloe Kapla pushing themselves to their limits. The Iron Maiden isn't very far away now."
Sanchez: "I wonder who will be the one to be sealed within its dangerous embrace?"
The crowd watch with anticipation as both Khloe Kapla and Father Nathan are downed. It's clear that their friends want to rush in to check on them, but they also keep a wary eye on each other.
Sanchez: "Who will be the one to get up first I wonder?"
Silverfield: "Whomever it is, that person will have an advantage."
Though as time goes by, it seems apparent that neither Father Nathan or Khloe Kapla are getting up.
Sanchez: "I don't think there's a time out thing here. So, what do we do?"
Silverfield: "No idea."
The ref nods, touching an earpiece. He stands at the side of the ring and begins counting both wrestlers out. When at the end of a ten count, neither get up, he signals for the bell to be rung.
Wilson: "Since neither wrestler can continue in this match, it has been ruled a draw!"
Sanchez: "I guess they can be counted out. I'm thinking Anderson had a hand in this though."
Silverfield: "We can't wait all night since the threat comes closer and closer."
Ascension Championship
Wilson: "This next match is the main event of the evening and is scheduled for one fall! It is for the ASA Ascension championship! Featuring the challenger, weighing in at one hundred and fifty-five pounds...Dixie Clement!"
Sanchez: "Well? Dixie Clement doesn't actually have to go anywhere with her being at ringside for the last match. Father Nathan is sitting in a chair at ringside with Mary by him."
Silverfield: "Well, hopefully he won't be needed after the hard match that he had with Khloe."
"Tornado" by Little Big Town plays as Dixie Clement waves to cheering fans.
Sanchez: "The odds are good that she will take the championship after schooling Mr. Clowny in their first encounter."
Silverfield: "Mr. Clowny is...odd. I know it takes all kinds, but I don't know that we have such things in Vesperia. Fools, yes. Clowns...I don't think so."
Wilson: "And his opponent, weighing in at two hundred and forty pounds, he is the ASA Ascension champion...Mr. Clowny!"
The cosmic sounds of "Calamity" swirl as the arena darkens. An ominous purple light shines from the entrance way. As the clown horns go off in the song, Mr. Clowny's ice cream truck drives down the aisle. A hatch opens from the top, and Clowny is propelled by the ejection seat all the way into the ring. With the wave of his hand, he summons a cupcake for a little pre-match sugar rush. As he eats it, his eyes begin to glow in random colors. He hands the Ascension belt to the ref for display, but it does seem as if the ref had to pry the belt away rather than have it given.
Sanchez: "I have heard that Clowny's odd capabilities have expanded to include cookies. Do you think he would be good at Candy Crush?"
Silverfield: "The art of smashing candy with a hammer? I saw that show on the magic box!"
Sanchez: "Television. And that was a commercial. It doesn't really work that way."
Silverfield: "Whatever. And I know, I tried it once at an Inn."
Sanchez: "Hotel?"
Silverfield: "Your word, not mine."
Sanchez: "Just out of curiosity. Did it say Clowny on the plate of that belt in neon purple frosting?"
Silverfield: "Yes."
As the bell rings, Mr Clowny and Dixie Clement near each other in the center of the ring. Clowny brings his hands together once in as if to clap. Dixie jumps back in shock as the sound of a gunshot is heard.
Clowny: "Hoo hoo! I wore my Big Boy Gunshot Sound Gloves today!"
Dixie shakes her head, belting Clowny in the mouth with a fist. She plants him on the mat with a scoop slam, and drops a knee. It only destroys a Birthday cake with white frosting and neon yellow frosting decorations.
Clement: "What the?"
Clowny: "Miss me? Oh wait, YOU DID!"
Clowny grabs Dixie by the arm, whipping her into the ropes, and hitting a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. He begins winding his fist, hitting a haymaker as Dixie sits up quickly to send her crashing back to the mat.
Clowny is up in the air before Dixie can react, landing a standing moonsault legdrop. He repositions himself for the cover.
One...Two...Dixie kicks out!
Sanchez: "Dixie still has a good amount of fight left in her yet!"
Silverfield: "She will need that to deal with the chaos that comes from Clowny."
Mr. Clowny reaches for Dixie, but she grabs him by the arm to pull his midsection onto her knee. She tosses him to the side while rising to her feet. She grabs Clowny as he starts to rise in a front face lock before bringing him up into a suplex position, and dropping down to land Clowny on his head.
Silverfield: "Brilliant! I think that move is called a Brainbuster?"
Sanchez: "Yes! And it was a well executed one at that!"
Dixie is back up, slipping behind Clowny as he slowly starts to rise. She grabs him and brings him back to the mat with a German suplex that she holds in place for the pinfall!
One...Two...Thr-Mr. Clowny kicks out!
Dixie jumps to her feet, drags Clowny up, whips him into the ropes, and runs to the other direction. They meet in the middle of the ring, Clowny ducks a clothesline, and spins around to catch Dixie off guard. He is laid low when Dixie spins as well to bring him down with the clothesline. She pulls him up again, only to bring him back down with a full nelson slam. She rolls him over and locks in a Texas Cloverleaf.
Sanchez: "This could be it! Will Clowny give up?"
Silverfield: "He is doing something, that's for sure."
Sanchez: "He should be writhing in pain, but is that a glass of milk and platter of cookies?"
Silverfield: "Yes?"
The ref stands next to Mr. Clowny and scratches his head as Clowny presses himself up on one arm, dipping chocolate chip cookies into a glass of milk, and eating away happily.
Minutes tick away and as Dixie hears nothing but laughter from the crowd. She looks back at Clowny and releases him, standing up.
Clement: "What's wrong with you?"
Mr. Clowny lays on the mat with a grin. He motions with a hand, a glass of milk appearing on one of Dixie's hands and a cookie in the other.
Clowny: "Sharing is caring! Hoo hoo! Now, dontcha have something to share with me?"
Dixie growls, pelting Clowny in the head with the cookie. She kicks him in the side to roll him onto his back, drops a knee onto his chest, pours the milk onto his face, and drops the glass on his head. It vanishes once it hits the ground along with the other glass that had been knocked over. The ref goes down to count the cover, his hand splattering spilled milk.
One...Two...Clowny kicks out!
Sanchez: "Clowny going to cry over spilled milk?"
Silverfield: "Why would he-"
Sanchez: "It's a saying. A metaphor for not getting upset over small things."
Dixie and Clowny both get to their feet, Clowny wiping his face off.
Clowny: "Alright. I'll be more serious from now on."
So, in the spirit of seriousness, Clowny challenges Dixie to a test of strength. Dixie glares at him for a minute before accepting. Once she has a hold on both hands, she begins jerking as electricity courses through her body. Clowny releases with Dixie dropping to her knees. He drops two joy buzzers to the mat with a laugh.
Clowny: "Holy Hand Lightning Bolts, Batman!"
Mr. Clowny begins dancing in the middle of the ring with some outlandish moves as Dixie Clement tries to regain control of her body.
Sanchez: "On his bio, it lists 'Outrageous Clown Dance' as his set up for his finisher. Could Dixie be almost finished?"
Silverfield: "A Dance as a set up move? Seems rather-"
Sanchez: "Outrageous? Yes."
Dixie gets up and Mr Clowny meets her for the-
Sanchez: "Clown Car Crash!"
Silverfield: "He's going for the cover!"
One...Two...Three!
Wilson: "Winner of the match via pinfall and STILL ASA Ascension champion...Mr. Clowny!"
Sanchez: "Mr. Clowny gets the option of giving this title up to go for the World championship held by Dasha at the next show! Assuming that we will have another show that is..."
Silverfield: "I'm sure there will be."
Escape
Without fanfare, Allen Anderson runs down to the ring with his microphone in his hand. He looks around before speaking, a serious expression.
Anderson: "The coalition force outside has been defeated. I am messaging those who remain outside and everyone here. If we are to remain alive, we must go through the portal into Vesperia. They will help us survive what's to come."
People look at each other with uncertainty. Anderson sighs before going back to the microphone.
Anderson: "Get to the fucking portal down below people! What part of remain here and die do you not understand? The remaining coalition forces are coming in to retreat to the portal already. Fucking MOVE!"
This sets everyone into motion as they start making their way down below.
Sanchez: "I guess another tour date is out of the question."
Silverfield: "We can do it. After you?"
Magician's Last Stand
Harry "Handcuffs" Houdini is running down through the hallways along with staff and a group of fans as they make their way down to the Portal as marked on the map of the arena as given to everyone as they came into the building tonight.
Security close doors and lock them as they go, but this last set explode into ashes along with the security guards. Harry Houdini stops in his tracks as he sees in person the man who everyone has been talking about.
Skalar the Chaos Mage.
He walks through the hallway with a deliberate step, the lights shining off of his gold flecked dark skin. Harry ushers people past him and stands in front of the being.
His heart beats a maddening drum in his head to remind him that he should be fleeing with the others, but he knows that he is better than that.
Much better than that.
Skalar stops, regarding Harry with dark amusement in his eyes.
Houdini: "Excuse me, sir. I will have to see your ticket."
Skalar: "Ticket?"
Houdini: "Piece of paper that says you paid to be here?"
Skalar: "You should run."
Harry nods, but reaches into a pocket. He looks out of the corner of his eye to see that people are still running through hallways to get to the portal.
Houdini: "My mistake. I think I have an extra ticket. You may have it for free of course."
Harry reaches into his pocket and pulls out a brightly colored handkerchief. He keeps pulling as this becomes a string of different colors, one tied to the next. The end of which is a sock. Harry checks his feet, discovering one of them is missing a sock.
Houdini: "That pocket went a bit deep. I'm sure that I have that ticket someplace."
Skalar stares impassively at Harry.
Houdini: "I may have had it under my hat!"
Harry takes out a flat top hat and pops it so that it opens up. He places it on his head, removes it, and a ticket is laying on his head. He holds it out to Skalar, but it not accepted. Harry shakes his head, tossing the ticket to the floor.
Houdini: "I was given this hat by someone quite gifted. Want to see what else it can do? Good!"
Harry turns the hat so that the hole is pointed at Skalar.
Houdini: "It can send you back to where you came from!"
A white energy beam streaks out from the hat, filling the hallway.
We see from the outside as the beam of energy bursts from the side of the building and onto the distance.
Inside Harry grins as the energy stops and his eyesight slowly returns. He isn't so happy when he sees Skalar still standing there and totally unharmed.
Skalar: "Your tricks are fun. Goodbye now."
Skalar's eyes flash and Harry's hat flies out of his grasp. It flips around and draws in Harry's arm to the elbow. Harry tries to pull his arm out, but quickly he finds his whole body sucked into the hat.
The hat falls to the floor and as Skalar walks past it, the hat burns away to nothingness.
Right Hand of Chaos
Golbez laughs as the last of nearly a dozen security guards fall dead at his feet. Shocktroopers from the Warhammer Corporation.
They had thought to stop him, but all they had managed to do was slow him down long enough for others to escape.
Even that only happened because he took his time in the cruelty of the moment to have some fun with these defiant mortals.
He starts walking again when Hela, Hoskuld Lokison, and Celes appear in front of him.
Lokison: "You need to wait a few more minutes, big guy. You don't need to kill anyone else today."
Golbez: "Petty gods...you can't stop me."
Lokison: "You are mistaken."
Golbez laughs as he places his axe upon his axe.
Golbez: "No God has stopped me before. What makes you think you can stop me when all of Asgard could not?"
Hoskuld backs up a little.
Lokison: "Celes. You and Hela go onto the portal."
Hela: "Hoskuld! He'll kill you! Let us help!"
Celes: "Daddy!"
Golbez lumber close with deliberate steps.
Golbez: "You should listen to the girls, little god. This way you all can die."
Hoskuld looks back at Celes and Hela, his expression unreadable.
Lokison: "Celes, I am your father! You will listen to me! Take Hela and go! I will join you soon enough."
Celes grabs Hoskuld by the hand, pulling him down to whisper in his ear. Hoskuld smiles and pats her in the head.
Lokison: "That will work, little one. Now go."
Celes grabs Hela by the hand and they both vanish. He faces Golbez with a smile.
Lokison: "I am different than any god you have ever met. My power can be at time-"
Golbez slams a fist home, but Hoskuld catches it with both hands, sliding back several feet until he comes to a stop.
Lokison: "Excessive. Enjoy your trip!"
Golbez: "What?"
Hoskuld leaps up into the air, hitting an uppercut that sends Golbez straight up into the air. We see from the outside as he explodes through the roof on his way up.
Hoskuld lands on the floor with a scream of pain. From the bones in his all the way to his shoulder and collar bone broke or simply shattered from the impact against the ancient armor.
Lokison: "As my son would have said before his insanity...Crap on a Cracker!"
Celes appears next to her downed father with a smile.
Celes: "He'll be back down in a few minutes. We should go."
Lokison: "You think I hurt him?"
Celes looks up through the hole leading to the outside as if in thought.
Celes: "I think you dazed him, but that's all. He will be pissed when he gets back though."
Lokison: "Ah. Let's go then. I could use some pain medicine."
Celes: "Morphine laced mead?"
Lokison: "You know it-I mean shush!"
The two vanish and in a few minutes, Golbez smashes through. He makes a new hole in the roof and ceiling, making a crater in the floor. He jumps out of the crater to land on the floor, a red glow coming from the visor on his helm.
Golbez: "I will tear the spine from his body while he still lives!"
The Veil is Lifted
Father Nathan, Dixie Clement, and Mary work their way down to the portal while making sure that people around them make their way down.
Once the area is clear, they begin their way. They freeze when a blue glow fills the hallway.
"Such a hero! They should call you Saint Nathan instead of Father Nathan!"
They turn around to see Sikarin Tsooth calmly walking down the hallway alone. Father Nathan stands between the girls and Sikarin, his hands glowing with white power as he channels divine energy.
Father Nathan: "We're on a more even footing since you forced the unlock of my potential, Sikarin. You brought your master back, but here's where it ends!"
Sikarin doesn't move as Father Nathan hits him with the Left Hand of God (heart punch). Sikarin's form breaks apart into smoke, but then appears next to him on the left.
Father Nathan: "You're all smoke and mirrors, Sikarin."
Another punch, but Sikarin catches it with his free hand. Father Nathan channels what power he can through that one fist, but Sikarin just smiles.
Tsooth: "My boy, I have been smoke and mirrors in the past. This was so that my master's enemies would work to fight each other and help me in bringing him back. If I let you mortals look past my veil to my full power...it just would not have been quite so enjoyable."
Father Nathan grits his teeth, but is quickly brought down to his knees.
Tsooth: "Now then. My master has defeated almost all of the Nine Worlds. We will now proceed to this portal Anderson had discovered and that world will be claimed by him as well. No escape for you mortals. It's better this way."
Father Nathan: "No!"
Just then a bullet passes through Sikarin's skull at the temple. He doesn't lose his grin as the hole quickly reseals itself. He tosses Father Nathan over by Dixie, who stands with a smoking gun.
Tsooth: "It's cute how you thought that would hurt me."
Clement: "It got you to release Nathan, didn't it?"
Sikarin chuckles, extending his staff to point the glowing blue crystal at them.
Tsooth: "That it did. Now you can die together."
A stream of blue power comes from the staff, but stops just short of the three as a man appears in front of them.
Not so much a man as an angel as he blocks the magical attack with his wings.
Father Nathan: "Daniel?"
Daniel looks back at the three.
Daniel: "Go!"
Father Nathan nods and the three head down the hallway to get to the portal. Daniel looks back to Sikarin.
Daniel: "Now you deal with me."
Sikarin rests his staff upon the floor.
Tsooth: "I have sensed your hand in helping your priest of late. I am beyond the reach of Death."
Daniel: "No being is beyond the Judgment of God!"
Father Nathan hears the clashing as he, Dixie, and Mary reach the portal. He starts to turn back as it quickly stops, but Mary puts a hand on his shoulder.
Mary: "You don't want to know..."
Father Nathan sighs, turning back to help those in need cross through the portal.
Father Nathan: "I know."
Exile
Allen Anderson follows once he gets the report that most everyone is down below and that the enemy have entered the building. He is met at the portal by Father Nathan and Dixie Clement.
Clement: "It's about time you came down! I thought you were going to try to take on all three by yourself!"
Anderson: "I'm not so foolish. Let's go."
The three step through the portal to the rocky ground beyond. Many of the others have begun the trek to the capital city, Vesper. Father Nathan looks back at the portal.
Father Nathan: "What prevents them from just coming through?"
Anderson places a hand on Father Nathan's shoulder with a solemn smile.
Anderson: "I want you to take care of the ASA for me."
Father Nathan: "Alright-wait. What? Where are you going?"
Anderson jerks his chin to the portal.
Anderson: "I'm going to seal the portal from the other side with tech Thamptis never had. With any luck, it will take the enemy out as well, and we'll be joined in the heart of a Black Hole Diamond."
Clement: "Don't be an idiot! Detonate it from here!"
Anderson smiles sadly.
Anderson: "I don't have a signal from this side. And I will try to distract them from entering long enough to detonate the bomb. I've heard it often enough. All of this...all of this is my fault. If I had ensured that Elizabeth and Valora were happy, they would not have been tempted by Khonsu and Nebiryau to bring back Thamptis. The war against Carthage has cost so many lives, and his defeat so many lives as to be uncountable. A domino effect of death and destruction that begins with me. I have to try to stop the chain. Pay for my sins."
Father Nathan: "You could not have known this chain of events would happen. This has been a web of ancient manipulations, not something set into motion by an owner who considered bloodshed to be the highest form of ratings."
Anderson: "And this is why you two will make fine managers for this company. When the portal is sealed, there will be no going back. You will need to prosper here and someday I'm sure you can find the way back home. Hopefully, Skalar will be gone by then. Goodbye."
Allen Anderson goes through the portal back to Earth. Dixie moves to stop him, but Father Nathan places a hand on her shoulder to stop him.
Father Nathan: "It is his choice. We will wait to make sure the portal closes."
Back on Earth, Anderson steps through the portal in time to stand in front of it when Skalar, Golbez, and Sikarin arrive. You can almost hear music in the background like this was a movie...
Tsooth: "Stand aside, Anderson. You have lost."
Anderson: "I have not."
Golbez laughs harshly.
Golbez: "What do you intend to do? You don't even look to be carrying a weapon."
Anderson reaches into his pocket to bring out his smart phone.
Anderson: "With this!"
Golbez: "I do not fear small boxes."
Sikarin laughs, pointing at the device.
Tsooth: "Lord Golbez, it is a cell phone. A device to call other people not here. Anderson, there's no one you can call."
Skalar: "Just kill him. Our destiny awaits."
Anderson: "Call? No. An app for the device at the arch of the portal? Yes. Goodbye."
Sikarin peers at the arch where a device is mounted. He frowns as he looks at it until.
Tsooth: "A Vortex Bomb?"
Anderson presses a button on the screen of his phone with a smile.
Anderson: "Boom."
The bomb explodes, shining its bright light through the portal.
Defeat
Outside of the flattened land that had once been the arena...
Skalar the Chaos Mage, Golbez, and Sikarin Tsooth slowly walk away. Golbez is carrying a small Black Hole Diamond in his hand.
Skalar: "It is a shame I was not able to cross over into this new world. Pronatura. It would have been a fine conquest."
Tsooth: "All is not lost, master. You still have a few of the Nine Worlds left to dominate. And trust me when I say that the heroes that were sealed into that world will find a way back one day. When that happens, we will be there to kill them and devastate the world beyond."
Golbez: "The wizard is right. The long game can still be won."
Skalar: "Well. Let us proceed back to Asgard. We will watch as the mortals here fight my Overlords and try to find a way to rebuild their world before I finish breaking the last of their spirit."
A Bifrost opens, taking the three back to Asgard.
Redemption
In the middle of nowhere in what was once Mexico...
The spirit of Rose Johnston slowly materializes. She lays down the unconscious form of Allen Anderson on the ground.
Johnston: "I am sorry that this method of transport takes such a toll on the mortal frame. It was the only way to get you here."
Rose raises her hand, sending out a stream of energy into the sky to alert the palace once known as Silver Linings Coliseum.
Johnston: "I know you wanted to pay for the sins you have committed during your life in a single act of sacrifice, but redemption is not found in death."
As the palace starts to near, Rose Johnston begins to fade.
Johnston: "I fear that I will no longer be able to remain here. My home has been destroyed, and my Gideon Rogers calls to me from the other side. Know this, Allen. The challenges you will soon face will be more difficult than anything you have faced before. It will seem as if you are not paying for your sins, but this is what you will be doing. Goodbye, Allen, and good luck on your new journey."
Epilogue
Outside of where the portal to Earth lays crumbled to the ground, an aftershock from the brutal destruction on the other side, several thousand soldiers from all over the world stand along with the few fans that came to see the ASA show, its staff, and wrestlers.
Many people check their phones for GPS devices to see where they were, shocked to see that they had no service. Though there were those who knew right away.
The sky was clear and full of stars. No light pollution to outshine them. No thin cloak of ash and smoke from the destruction as a world is ravaged. Three moons bright in the sky was their most obvious clue. One looming high overhead, one smaller one about to set, and an even smaller one just risen over the Eastern horizon.
Many have already followed the lead of ASA fans and staff in looking to Father Nathan and Dixie Clement for guidance, though others have remained apart from this group.
Vesperian soldiers who had joined the coalition wait patiently as a caravan is sighted in this distance. They part as the carriage of fine metals and gems stops and a single man dressed as if a aristocrat from a fantasy movie walks directly to Father Nathan and Dixie Clement with a bow and a smile.
"Word has already reached me of the death of Allen Anderson. He has already told me of his designs should this come to pass. I am the Speaker of the House, Duke Gabriel Kingston the Second, of the Vesperian House of Lords. Welcome to Vesperia! This is your home now."
That's the PDF version of the show and is downloadable. Shows even come with mp3 files built into the pdf for a more immersive viewing.
