{The camera spins around the arena as “The Enemy” by I Prevail plays, before we cut to shots of the current roster. Close ups on Killian Kold, Ethan King, Muru, Zelda, Todd Williams, Taane, Amber Cooke, Dawn Halliwell, Gwen Price-King, Aiden Reynolds, Lizzy Dalmon, Crystal, and finally Shun Lei and Kyle Frye, before a flash of the three current champions raising their belts and then a final image of Spike Kane standing in the middle of the ring while the crowd chants “COM-BAT! COM-BAT!” The camera comes to rest on Shea O’Hara and Rob Diamond.}Shea O’Hara: Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to Friday! Night! FURY!
Rob Diamond: Yes, Shea, we’re back! After a successful night at Ascendancy where we crowned our first Women’s, and Men’s Heavyweight Champions, as well as our first Dauntless Champion!
Shea O’Hara: And tonight we’ll see all three of them in action, in a six person mixed tag match.
Rob Diamond: A match that has been dubbed a “Champions Showcase” pits the three champions against three competitors who may, or may not be, in line for a title shot themselves.
Shea O’Hara: Not to mention, Dawn Halliwell has gone on record and said her title will be on the line in every match she’s booked in!
Rob Diamond: I’m not sure how much stock people should take in that, but if we know one thing, it’s that Spike loves it when people show initiative!
Shea O’Hara: So let’s get the ball rolling with our first match of the night.
Rob Diamond: A debuting Mercedes Vargas takes on Lizz Dalmon!
{We cut now to mid way through the match. Lizzy charges at Vargas, but MErcedes catches her with an armdrag sending her across the ring. Dalmon rolls to her feet after slamming the mat determined, but Vargas catches her again, this time with a picture perfect dropkick. Lizzy seems to be out of feul now as she crawls towards Vargas who looks down, waiting for Lizzy Dalmon to get to her feet, after a few moments MErcedes decides to drag Lizzy up instead and lifts her up…..BLACK ROSE OVERDRIVE! Vargas grabs the leg for a cover…..ONE! …..TWO! …..THREE!!!}
Shea O’Hara: An impressive debut there by Mercedes Vargas.
Rob Diamond: You can say that again Shea. Lizzy isn’t the type to be taken lightly, but Mercedes made short work of her there.
Shea O’Hara: With Vargas making an impact in her first match in Combat we moved on right away to the next one.
Rob Diamond: We’ve got Todd Williams going up against Kyle Frye in a Dauntless Rules match!
{We cut to the match where it seems like Frye has everything in hand. He’s able to take his time and attack methodically in the match, as every time Williams tries to get back into the match Kyle simply takes the wind out of his sails. All of a sudden Todd Williams seems to get a burst of energy, he uppercuts Frye and hits the ropes, but as he does so Kyle hits the ones at a right angle to him. As Todd turns to stop Kyle nearly decapitates him with a huge running lariat. The crowd pop for the move before Kyle looks down at Todd and locks in the Homeland Cloverleaf! Todd writhes in agony, but taps after a few moments, the referee calls for the bell and holds up Frye’s hand to a round of applause from the crowd.}
Rob Diamond: Kyle Frye is showing everyone what he is capable of. Did you see that lariat?
Shea O’Hara: He almost took Todd’s head off!
Rob Diamond: I’m sure we’d all be so sad if it did….
Shea O’Hara: Umm….anyway? We’ve got a great segment coming up. It’s time for the King’s to get something off of their chest, in the King’s Court!
{Gwen and Ethan are standing in the ring, an elaborate set made up around them. Each of them have microphones in their hands as the crowd rain boos down on them.}
Ethan: So Ascendancy has come and gone, and it would be remiss of me to refuse to acknowledge that it did not… go according to our plans.
Gwen: That’s putting it mildly.
Ethan: Yes, yes… neither of us walked out victorious, and while Gwen has the consoling factor of having had to fight off the concentrated efforts of three women at once-
Gwen: … And nearly beat them anyway…
Ethan: … I am forced to live with the knowledge that I was beaten one on one by one… Killian Kold. But as I recovered from his particular brand of savagery, Gwen and I took some time to review the episodes of Friday Night Fury and… well, to say we were surprised by what we saw would be… what would you call it, dear?
Gwen: An embarrassing understatement, I’d say, though I’m not exactly a poet.
Ethan: You are in the ring my dear… but the point is that yes, we found something shocking – Combat Wrestling staff declaring on Combat Wrestling programming that Killian Kold should have been disqualified from the tournament altogether!
Gwen: Odd that they let that be broadcast, isn’t it? Now if it were a fan…
Ethan: … or another salty wrestler…
Gwen: … Or anyone not on Spike Kane’s payroll…
Ethan: That sort of talk would be expected and unworthy of note.
Gwen: But because it was one of the commentators… we have something of a problem. Because according to Combat Wrestling staff, he should have been disqualified, as declared publicly on the broadcast.
Ethan: Now I can’t guess as to why Spike Kane chose not to disqualify Mr. Kold…
Gwen: … And wouldn’t imply that it’s because he’s showing favoritism to a former student…
Ethan: … Which would be so very against XHF Network guidelines and put his entire show at risk…
Gwen: … And you’d be able to make a decent case if, say, his daughter was Women’s Champion…
Ethan: But I think we can all agree that there’s something of a problem here, can’t we? Now, I’m not a sore loser. I’m not going to demand that Mr. Kane give me the belt without a match. I’m not even going to demand a rematch. The in-ring politics have come and gone.
Gwen: But fair reparations must be made. For the sake of honesty. And fairness.
Ethan: And given that the crux of the problem revolves around bungled business procedures…
Gwen: … And that Ethan’s a much more notable and accomplished figure in the business world than Mr. Kane…
Ethan: … I think fair reparations would be for me to generously offer my assistance in managing his company. I can offer financial and logistical support that the Combat Wrestling Brand clearly needs.
Gwen: So here’s the deal, Spike Kane.
Ethan: Give me control of half of Combat Wrestling, and we’ll all profit.
Gwen: Or we sue for discrimination and violation of XHF Network guidelines. And the lawyers we can afford?
Ethan: … Are MUCH better than the ones you can afford. It would be long. Ugly. And ultimately? You’d lose. So do the right thing for your company, Spike. Half control.
Gwen: It’s only fair.
Ethan: And… I think we all know… best for business.
{Suddenly the speakers come to life as “Crushed” by Parkway Drive hits the sound system and the crowd go nuts. Spike Kane walks out onto the stage in a rather nice looking suit, but no jacket. His sleeves are rolled up, and he has a microphone in hand. He smirks to the crowd who are chanting his name, before looking down at the ring, where Ethan looks pretty pissed that he’s been interrupted.}Spike: Let me get this straight, you two both lose and then come out here threatening to sue me? I don’t think you understand how the wrestling business works King. You see, I hired Shea O’Hara for here knowledge, for her insight, and I hired Rob Diamond? Well simply put, because he speaks his mind and is also one of the best wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots…
{An “InFamous” chant begins to grow before Spike raises his hand again.}
Spike: Why did I not disqualify Killian Kold from the tournament? Probably the same reason I didn’t disqualify your cheating ass…Simply put? I thought one of you would put him in his place, but here we are, right? You want half of MY company because YOU couldn’t do your job? Well Ethan….instead of spending weeks, and months of time and money on lawyers….let’s do this thing the way we settle everything in the wrestling business? …..you versus me. Next week, right here, in that very ring!
{The crowd are going nuts. Ethan has a slight smirk on his face, as Gwen is talking into his ear.}
Spike: You beat me? You own half of the company, fifty percent, right down the line. If I beat you? You end this charade and get back in line!
{Now the crowd are cheering louder than before. Ethan has a very cunning smile on his face as he leans on the top rope towards Spike, who’s nostrils seem to be flaring just a little. Before we cut back now to Shea and Rob.}
Rob Diamond: What an announcement!
Shea O’Hara: If not a ringing endorsement from Spike himself, Rob, not bad eh?
Rob Diamond: That’s true Shea, but I’m worried that if King wins, I might be out of a job!
Shea O’Hara: If King does win, he’d co-own Combat with Spike, and the whole landscape of this company could change!
Rob Diamond: Speaking of landscapes changing, it’s Main Event time!
Shea O’Hara: That’s right, it’s time for the Champions Showcase!
Rob Diamond: Boy what a match this turned out to be, with some twists and turns I don’t think anyone expected.
Shea O’Hara: I’ll second that Rob. During their entrances Killian Kold came out to the stage, raised his championship above his head…..and then turned around and walked straight back behind the curtain!
Rob Diamond: Leaving everyone in the ring confused, especially his own teammates.
Shea O’Hara: Still, both Taane and Dawn agreed to continue with the match and instead we got ourselves a mixed tag handicap match!
Rob Diamond: And our competitors really brought it to the champions!
{We cut to the ring now where we see Dawn Halliwell and Caitlyn Wright facing off. Taane is on the apron, slapping the turnbuckle to support Dawn while both Jack and Aiden do the same for Caitlyn. The two women meet in the middle of the ring, Dawn takes Caitlyn down with an armdrags but holds the arm, swinging around and dropping the leg on top of Caitlyn. She goes for a quick pin, but Caitlyn kicks out before the referee gets the one. Caitlyn holds her arm a little gingerly, before backing up to the corner. Aiden Reyndols tags himself in, and hops the ropes. Dawn looks frustrated at him and maybe thinks about going for him, but Taane is already over the ropes and meets Reynolds with a diving forearm. Dawn reluctantly goes to the apron.}Rob Diamond: It looked like Dawn was going to fight Aiden there!
Shea O’Hara: Dawn doesn’t back down from anything, but the rules are rules and she could have got her team disqualified.
{Taane claps his hands as he hits the ropes coming back at Reynolds who pops up with a huge running knee taking the steam out of Taane. Aiden looks around and drags Taane to his feet, he whips him into Aiden’s own corner and as Taane slips down he charges with a canonball! The crowd pop, but suddenly Hungry Jack tags himself in!}
Rob Diamond: What!?
Shea O’Hara: I guess Hungry Jack wants the prize of the pinfall instead of letting Aiden continue.
{Aiden and Jack exchange a few words as Aiden steps back out onto the apron. Jack is pulling Taane up by his air, but Taane bursts to life with a devastating uppercut that staggers Jack. He hits him with a chop, and Jack staggers, before hitting another. Taane shouts out “CHOO-HOO!” to the crowd as he hits the ropes and comes back with the RUGBY TACKLE! Jack goes down, and Taane covers…..ONE! …..TWO! ….Aiden runs in to break the fall, but DAWN SPEARS HIM DOWN!!!...THREE!!! The referee calls for the bell amidst the chaos.}
Shea O’Hara: Dawn just speared Aiden to save the pinfall!
Rob Diamond: Taane finishes off Hungry Jack for the victory, with a little bit of help from his partner, what a match!
Shea O’Hara: That’s all we have time for tonight folks, but I assure you the next episode of Fury is NOT to be missed!
Rob Diamond: We’re going to see Spike Kane in action, as well as the Dauntless Championship being defended!
Shea O’Hara: I’m Shea O’Hara, and he’s Rob Diamond, and it’s a good night from us!
